Our Story
With so much to do in the day with running several businesses and chasing after 3 dogs, maintaining peak physical health has been a pillar to husband-wife team, Dan and Shay Sprague. Yet, the grind of daily responsibilities and stress inevitably takes its toll, pushing them to explore unconventional solutions beyond traditional gym routines and healthy eating.
Their journey took a transformative turn when, after committing to a year of daily at-home cold dips, they discovered the profound impact on their overall well-being. However, it wasn't until their visit to Nordic Spa Alberta in 2023 that the pieces truly fell into place. Experiencing firsthand the harmonious connection between mind, body, and spirit, along with the ensuing peace, ignited a passion to share this holistic approach with others.
Wilderness Retreat and Nordic Spa was started to bring the benefits of hydrotherapy and Scandinavian wellness practices to Windsor-Essex County and its neighboring areas. Located only a mere 60 minutes from the Windsor-Detroit border and nestled within 50 acres of pristine woods, Wilderness Retreat invites you to escape and rejuvenate close to home.
